You bring up an excellent point (albeit in a negative, non-constructive way — but I get your frustration). I really debated how to structure this, especially because I knew there would be a lot of users like me who know about Command + Tab who’d be hoping there’d be some new, magicaly shortcut they’d never heard of that would save them a ton of time. In the end, my hope was to connect with users who use the methods I outlined — that they’d identify with the pain in that particular method and that would help them understand the value of the App Switcher feature.

I wish Medium could let users input their experience level with a given topic so that writers/publications could input the experience level that coincides with our articles. That’s a big undertaking, but it would prevent more advanced users like you from investing time in an article that ultimately yields info they already know.

That being said, I’ve had numerous readers comment on how they never knew about the App Switcher and that they’re going to start using it or that there’s an even better way to do switch apps with the help of third party programs.

Ultimately, though, I don’t think my article is bullshit.
